No, currently that is not possible. However, this is a popular feature request that you can vote on here. I am currently investigating how I can add that feature to the app without deteriorating the experience for users who do not need this feature.
If you selected the "Weather" option in the app settings under "Feeds & events", but no weather information shows up in the diary entries, the reason for this most likely is that the entry does not contain a "location". Because the app needs to know for what location the weather should be received, you need to add a location first.
In order to help you remembering what happened on a day, Diarium automatically shows photos that you took on that day. Those pictures are imported from the "Camera Roll" or "Photos" folder on your device. Those imported photos show a small "photos" icon on the bottom right and are not permanently added to your diary (however you can permanently add them by right-clicking and selecting "Attach to entry"). You can turn off that feature completely by disabling the "Camera Roll" integration in the app settings under "Feeds & events".
No. When you connect your social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, ...) in the app settings, Diarium does not post any content to those services. Diarium uses your exising data (e.g. your Twitter tweets) to show it in the app, as part of the diary entry. If you want to share contents of your journal, you can use the share button when viewing an entry.
You can sync your journal between devices (cross-platform, meaning you can sync between a
Windows PC and Android phone). To do so, simply select the Cloud service you want to use in
the app settings and trigger a sync manually by clicking the "sync" button on the main page
(located on the top right). For the future, I am planning to impement an automatic syncing
mechanism, so the button does not have to be clicked manually any more. The data uploaded to
the cloud is compressed and encrypted.
You can also move the database to another device without using the Cloud sync. You can export the complete database in the app settings ("Backup diary" button) and import the resulting .diary-file on another device with the "Import diary" button
For OneDrive, Diarium is syncing the data in the folder "Applications/Diarium". For GoogleDrive & WebDAV, you find it in the "Diarium" folder in the root of your cloud storage space. And for Dropbox, the data will be saved to the "Apps/Diarium" folder.
If there is enough demand for specific cloud services then I will consider adding them. Head over to the feedback forum to let me know what option you are missing.
In some cases, the sync might not work as expected. Some of the possible reasons include insufficient cloud space, a bad internet connection or sync-incompatible instances of Diarium (make sure you are running the latest app version (v2.*) on all connected devices). It is also possible that the sync fails if the sync folder contents on your cloud storage are changed manually - please don't add or remove any files in those folders (see "Where is the data stored?"). In some cases, it can also help to reset the sync login credentials in the app settings. If you continue to have problems with the Cloud sync, please don't hesitate reaching out to me via mail.
No, the Pro version is a durable one-time purchase - no subscription!
The Pro version license is bound to the respective App Store Account (e.g. on Windows: your Microsoft Account). That allows you to use the same license on multiple devices of the same platform (e.g. Windows) - given you use the same account on all those devices. Because different platforms are using different App Stores (Windows: Windows Store, Android: Google Play Store), you need to buy the Pro version separately for each platform if you want to use the cross-platform Cloud sync.
Feel free to add your ideas and feature requests to the feedback forum or vote on existing ones.
I am actively on the app: fixing bugs, provide support, implement new features. All that
takes a lot of time. Purchasing the Pro version allows me to spend that time in the future
as well. You can also send me a small donation
What helps me even more, are your ratings/reviews in the App Store. I read every single one of them and they motivate me incredibly while building this app! Also, they help Diarium becoming more visible in the App Store for other people. If you enjoy the app, I'd be more than happy about a short 5-star review - thanks! 💙
Feel free to reach out to me via mail. I'll happily provide further assistance.
